Controlled bunghole exhaust and earthing of bung-type drums

Controlled bunghole exhaust and earthing of bung-type drums

The redesigned bunghole exhaust type SPA with earthing ring sets new benchmarks regarding availability and safety.
The bunghole exhaust with integrated earthing ring in the exhaust funnel has been designed to absorb gas, vapour and aerosols from the bunghole during filling. At the same time the drums are earthed. Before filling, the bunghole exhaust descends on the bunghole edge, slows down and slightly raises again.
Thus, there will be a specific gap so that the air volume required for exhaust is 10 times less than for conventional exhaust systems.
The earthing ring remains on the bunghole edge to avoid an influence on the weigh scale. As the dead weight of the earthing ring has been increased and the earthing cutter geometry has been modified, the earthing ring remains reliably on the bunghole and unintentional loss of earth contact is excluded. In case of exhaust or earthing failure appropriate control measures will immediately stop the filling equipment to prevent noxious or explosive filling gas from discharging into the operating area.
