Feige Filling is the accredited company for manufaturer’s initial calibration

From the 4th quarter of 2010 Feige Filling’s own service technicians are able to carry out the manufacturer’s initial calibration for Feige weigh scales.

As from today, immediately after the machine’s test run, the CE-calibration of non-automatic scales and fully automatic scales of brand new Feige Filling machines and completed weigh scale refits can be done in a quick and uncomplicated way by specially trained accredited Feige Filling personnel!

The final customer has the advantage that no additional personnel have to attend the calibration and the arrangement and coordination with the local W & M authority (Standards Department) is avoided. This saves time and costs.
Feige Filling takes over the full responsibility for the organisation and performance of the CE-calibration.
At the same time there can be scheduled further services, as e.g. inspection, maintenance, training or installation of spare parts without incurring the costs of another visit.
The legal basis for the „manufacturer’s initial calibration“ is a specified „EC-calibration“ for non-automatic scales and fully automatic scales. The basis of the procedure for the initial circulation of scales in Europe are the EC-directives:

1. Directive 2009/23/CE, regulates the putting into circulation of „non-automatic scales(NSW)“.
The transition period has already expired since 2002.

2. Directive 2004/22/CE, regulates the putting into circulation „fully automatic scales (SWA). This directive is often designated as “MID”.
(MID = Measuring Instruments Directive)
The transition period for this directive ends in 2016!

By the resolution of the Council (93/456/EEC) the manufacturer himself can perform the CE-calibration as per “module D” for the initial circulation of the scales in Europe.
After the successful manufacturer’s initial calibration Feige will declare CE conformity and filling operation can start.

(MID = Measuring Instruments Directive)

Feige fills ready-mixed mortar into plastic bags

Following the trend, JUB thought about filling ready-mixed mortar into plastic bags. Economical and ecological advantages for the producer and the customer made the decision for the bag easier. Compared with the packing in conventional pails, less storage capacity is required and raw materials are saved.
Since 2003 Feige Filling has delivered 6 filling machines for the filling of paints and mortars to JUB in Slovenia and Serbia. This time the compact design of the semiautomatic bag filling and sealing machine type 4 and the minimal installation work required were the persuading factors.
After the operator has placed an open bag into the bag holding device he only needs to press the start button. The bag is held securely during filling and is supported by the bag support. After precise W&M approved filling in coarse and fine fill the bag is removed from the filler and sealed with a sealing unit.
Even for the cost-effective bag filler one important feature of Feige filling machines is not missing: Filling valves with minimum dead space and self-adjusting sealing, with quick connectors for quick change of product and efficient cleaning. For the filling of 30kg of mortar open polyethylene bags are used which have been enforced additionally. Up to 150 bags can be filled per hour.
Once again the Haver & Boecker Group has proven to be a cumulative technology competence. Not only are agitators from the subsidiary Sommer GmbH & Co. KG being used in the preparation processes. But all components for the handling of the bag from the filling to the sealing process were also acquired from the Haver & Boecker Maschinenfabrik.

Feige verpackt Fertigputz in Plastiksäcke

Pallet filling machine with reliable bunghole location

For almost 20 years Feige has been fitting its liquid filling equipment for liquid and pasty products with patented camera system. For fully automatic filling the camera system automatically locates the bungholes of the containers on the pallet. Any type of container can automatically be filled – ranging from the 20 l can up to the 1000 l IBC. Many years of experience with different fields of application helped the Feige engineers to continuously develop the camera system which has always been adapted to the latest state-of-the-art in sensor and image processing technology.

This development of the patented camera system is incorporated in the innovative Feige pallet filler type 37. Thus, this machine is the first automatic pallet filler offering the proven “Plug & Fill” concept.

“Plug & Fill“ is the Feige concept to integrate all components of the electric and pneumatic control into the machine and to set the machine into operation directly after mains supply and compressed air have been connected. In this way, extensive installation and commissioning work on site can be omitted.

The positions of the filling openings – from 20 l to 1000 l IBC - are automatically located by a camera system and the pallet filler automatically fills the containers one after the other and approved for verification. Of course, the development of the previous Feige system recognises whether the containers are open or closed. And the camera system will not be influenced by dirt, labels or water stains on the container head. This makes the system most suited to several fields of application, even in hazardous area and will lead to remarkable increase in productivity. The camera system is also suited to remote maintenance. Feige is able to configure new container types or particular applications for the customer – worldwide and cost-effective.

Thus, the filling experts at Feige use a well-proven system with highest pixel resolution providing exact and safe positioning of tools during filling.

The innovative “Plug & Fill“ pallet filler type 37 offers a sophisticated, quick and safe matrix technology to fill most different types of containers. A fork lift truck places a pallet with the empty and open containers on a pit scale platform. After the START button is pressed the full image camera system identifies the coordinates of the filling openings. The three positioning systems (for x-, y- and z-axis of the filler) automatically position the filling unit to the calculated coordinates and filling is started. The operator will only be prompted to change the pallet. Thus, the system offers highest productivity in production.

The construction and the construction dimension of the automatic pallet filler even enable the filling of several layers and the filling of incomplete pallets.

As usual, the innovative Feige pallet filler is a gravimetric system where filling is controlled by the well-proven Feige weigh scale.
